IKON in the Community

Our Mission

We take pride in running a practice where people love to work, and our patients love to attend.

As well as providing unparalleled, professional dentistry in a welcoming and trusting environment, equally important to us, is a commitment to making a positive difference both locally and globally through the way we run our business.

These commitments form part of our 'IKON in the Community' initiative.

We ensure a proportion of our time and budget is used to help develop our staff and support good causes in a strategic and planned way.

What we do
• We donate funds and where possible, work with our chosen charities and organisations.
• We support and facilitate our team to take part in fundraising activities.
• We enable members of our team to take part in volunteering activities in the local area.
Our commitments
• As dental professionals, our primary commitment is to improve oral health in an honest and open environment.
• We are proud to be a part of and support our local community in Ealing.
• As a practice and as individuals, we are committed to minimising our impact on the environment and run a sustainable business.
How we embrace our commitments

We work strategically with our chosen causes for a minimum of 2 years. By committing to this timeframe, we can make significant differences and help the causes achieve more as they know they have long term backing from us and others. To respond to the many smaller local charities in need of support, money raised by our team goes into a community fund which is allocated to good causes in the area.

Bridge2Aid

Across the developing world, people live in excruciating pain because they lack access to emergency dental care. Bridge2Aid trains rural-based health workers in developing countries, providing them with the skills, equipment and resources that they will need to provide emergency dental care in a world where over 70% of the population currently do not have access to even basic dental treatment.
IKON are funding the training of a rural health worker.

Ealing Soup Kitchen

Ealing Soup Kitchen has been providing a vital lifeline for the homeless and vulnerable in the area since 1973. As well as hot food, they also run regular drop-ins where they provide clothes, a hairdresser, showers, practical help, games and a doctor on site.
IKON help fund the Soup Kitchen and IKON staff volunteer at the drop-ins.

Ealing Cricket Club

Ealing Cricket Club was formed in 1870, and is an important part of the local community.
IKON sponsor the Inter Franchise League, a local league competition for U9/8s and U11/10s.

Environment & Sustainability
• Where possible, we use recycled products and reuse equipment that we sterilise on-site.
• We have adopted a secure online booking and patient/treatment management system in order to reduce printing.
• We have reduced our energy consumption through a strict power-down policy and restricted use of air conditioning. The energy we do consume comes from sustainable sources through green energy supply.
• We have invested in an Oral Care and Packaging Zero Waste Box, meaning patients can bring in old toothpaste tubes, toothbrushes, interdental brushes, floss containers and dental aligners to be recycled by terracycle.com
