Referral Policy

We accept referrals by phone, letter or via our secure online referral portal, Valident. We work closely with our referring colleagues to ensure continued dental support. All patients referred are returned to their dentist and hygienist.

Only the prescribed referral request will be addressed. Under no circumstances will patients be allowed to be seen for routine dentistry or other non-prescribed treatments.

Referrals are accepted for advice, treatment and second opinions for:

  • Gingivitis (swollen gums)
  • Gum disease
  • Gum disease treatment around implants- Peri-implantitis
  • Cosmetic gum graft to correct gum shrinkage
  • Correction of uneven gum line
  • Lengthen teeth (crown lengthening) where teeth are two short to repair
  • Dental implants
  • Bad breath (halitosis)
Dental Referrals

Dentist refers patient to IKON via Valident, our secure online portal, by phone or by post.
IKON books the patient in for a consultation.
Confirmation is sent to the referring dentist.
2. Consultation
After the consultation, the patient and referring dentist are sent reports, proposed treatments, forms and guarantees.
3. Treatment
The referring dentist receives updates of all procedures.
On completion, the patient returns to the referring dentist for ongoing care.
4. Follow-up
Follow-up appointments to check on the progress of the treatment may be required.
